The process
The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank was looking to have signage and graphics designed to make their headquarters feel more welcoming and vibrant. They also wanted the graphics to be aligned with their mission, and brand. With a goal of creating an inspiring place for staff, volunteers, vendors, donors and clients we embarked on a ambitious creative journey together. The first phase of the project involves exploring an illustration style for over 20 fruits, vegetables, and packaged food items to help build a toolkit of flexible design assets. We introduced these hand drawn elements to their brand in order to help make the space feel less corporate and more inviting. This was balanced with design elements that precisely incorporated their existing brand identity throughout the space. Finding the the right balance was challenging, as it often is when a project is trying to push a brand in a new creative direction, but by setting up clear expectations and direct communication we found a solution together.
